Mr McRae has an extensive and distinguished career in the mining industry globally in various capacities and is a prominent expat in the Mongolian sector. Cameron has served a 28-year career at Rio Tinto, holding executive level positions in 5 countries. He was centrally involved in the landmark merger of RTZ plc and CRA Ltd that created the Rio Tinto Group.
Cameron was more recently the former President & CEO of Oyu Tolgoi and Rio Tinto’s Country Director for Mongolia, where he oversaw over US$6 billion investment and the successful commencement of commercial production from Oyu Tolgoi, a world-class copper porphyry deposit, being responsible for all aspects of the project including safety, strategy, operations and growth initiatives, including being chairman of its Exploration Committee.
Mr McRae is currently Executive Chairman of Terracom Limited (ASX : TER), formerly Guildford Coal, a miner with projects in Mongolia and Queensland, Australia, with plans to expand into the global energy and resources market.
He is a foundation director of the Mongolian Institute of National Strategy, Tarva Investment & Advisory, holds a commerce degree and MBA.
Cameron has been an advisor to and shareholder in Kincora since 2014, and was in an in managerial role assisting with IBEX transaction transition until recently.
